The drive-through site was selected to provide more community testing in the Uncasville region, but also to allow Mohegan Sun team and Tribal members access to fast, safe COVID-19 testing. The Thames Garage location is open to the public and Mohegan team members by appointment only.

New London, CT – Comcast announced it is expanding its network to the City of New London giving residents and businesses a new choice for TV, internet, voice, home automation and wireless services.
The buildout will benefit New London’s residents and the city's growing business community. New London is home to many of the country’s leading liberal arts colleges; a nationally recognized Pfizer’s Groton Laboratories and the Clinical Research Unit, New Haven will support more than 60 programs in Southeastern Connecticut, the greater New Haven area, and southern Rhode Island through its 2018 competitive grants program.
Priority was given to programs that bring science and math to students from elementary through high school. Additional awards were made for programs that provide for the underserved or to support local civic and cultural institutions. Groups receiving support in 2018 New London, CT – On Saturday, April 21, nearly 1,000 Connecticut Comcast NBCUniversal employees and their families, friends and community partners helped to “make change happen” as they volunteered to improve six sites throughout the state as part of the 17th annual Comcast Cares Day. This year, volunteers were also part of and celebrated a significant milestone of Comcast Cares Day – reaching 1 million volunteers since the program began in 2001.
Comcast Cares Day is more than just a day – it is a Emergency Food & Shelter Program (EFSP) funds in the amount of $120,036 are available to organizations in New London Census County to supplement already existing emergency food and shelter programs. The funds are made available through the Department of Homeland Security/Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Funding amounts are determined nationally by a board chaired by FEMA. The Military Community Support Award Waterford, CT – Charter Oak Federal Credit Union provided a $10,000 grant to the Ocean Community YMCA’s Mystic Branch on September 30th.
The donation will be disbursed in $2,000 increments over the course of the next five years, and will be allocated towards upcoming expenses associated with renovations at the Mystic Branch. Waterford, CT — The Chamber of Commerce of Eastern Connecticut Foundation today announced the distribution of $88,674 to 27 eastern Connecticut nonprofits that will improve the quality of life for thousands of children in eastern Connecticut.

The Ocean Community YMCA is urging Westerly, RI and Southeastern, CT residents to become involved in a young person’s life by volunteering some time to be a mentor as part of the Reach & Rise™ Mentoring Program.
“January is National Mentoring Month,” says Debbie Scheinblum, MA, LPC, Reach & Rise™ Program Director at the Ocean Community YMCA, "and it’s a great time to think about young people United Community & Family Services (UCFS) has been awarded $2,000 from the Co-Trustees for the Olga Sipolin Children’s Fund. The funds will allow uninsured children to receive preventive dental sealants through UCFS’ Smiles on the Move Dental program. The Smiles on the Move program utilizes mobile dental equipment to visit 63 area school and child care centers in 13 towns and cities in southeastern Connecticut. Registered Dental hygienists provide oral health services including proper brushing and flossing It is our pleasure to announce the appointment of Dr. Joel Bregman to the behavioral health team at UCFS. Dr. Bregman is a Board Certified general, child and adolescent psychiatrist with expertise in the treatment of those with autism spectrum disorders and related conditions.
Dr. Bregman graduated from Yale University School of Medicine and completed his residency at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Medicine and the University of Pennsylvania School Of Medicine.
